The history of Inc Dot
A proud history
If you've arrived here then it's clear that you want to know all about us. A company is driven by its staff and its history right? So, as you asked, here's the potted version...
Inc Dot is a family firm that was first established in 1979. We started life as a design company and design remains at the heart of all we do. A print and design company called Kall Kwik could be found in the bustling streets of York in the 1980s, with John Turnbull, our founder, at the helm. (You can see an interview with John from that time on this page.)
As the business grew and premises expanded into Clifton Moor, the time was right to open a brand new offering – 'Inc Dot Business Print Solutions', with daughter Pascha leading the team.
Always building on success and adapting to the markets, the company saw many changes (including logo rebranding) culminating in the on-line ordering system we have now. Today the company is led by siblings Nick (MD) and Pascha Turnbull (FD), and the majority of our staff have been with us for many years. We attract talent and we know it’s worth looking after; our passion is always to do our best for you. Whether that’s one sheet of A4 copying, a full colour digital run of brochures or an A0 canvas print, producing high quality design and print at our York base or through our offices in China.
Smart, forward-thinking investment has allowed us to ensure that we offer the highest quality, best value, ways to achieve what you want from a print and graphics partner. Yet, a business is much more than its nuts and bolts; Inc Dot is the culmination of the professionalism, experience and dedication of our great team.
We are sorry to bring you the sad news that John Turnbull left us in 2016 and you can READ THE TRIBUTE HERE.
Home movies and video
Over the years we have created various videos and we'd like to share them with you here. Some have special archive interest and others are just for fun. We hope you'll enjoy getting to know us.
When Pascha was MD the whole company took part in this promotional video which highlighted the emphasis on customer service and the approachable nature of the Inc Dot team.
In the summer of 2014, Inc Dot took delivery of a massive, full colour, litho printing press. It was such a historic moment that we decided to create a home-movie style film to document the event
In the summer of 2012, Pascha recorded a short piece to camera about installing a new press and receiving ISO accreditation.
Stonegate Arcade, 1983
In 1983, John Turnbull (founder of Inc Dot) was interviewed as part of a documentary on the newly emerging 'franchise' culture, popular with small business of the time, for Channel 4 Television. Because this is now of such historic, cultural and archive interest it is being shared with you here.
