When it comes to folded leaflets, there’s more than one way to do it—and the right fold can make a real difference in how your message is received. Whether you're promoting an event, showing off a menu, or sharing key info, we've got a fold to suit your style.
Here’s a quick guide to the most popular leaflet folds. (We’ll show you pictures too—just below!)
Half Fold
Also called a single fold, this one’s simple and effective. Your leaflet is folded in half—just like a greeting card. Great for menus, price lists, and short brochures.
Z Fold
Folded into three panels in a zig-zag shape, like the letter Z. Ideal if you want readers to take in one section at a time—perfect for step-by-step guides or journeys.
Concertina Fold
Similar to a Z fold but with more panels—usually four or more. Each panel folds in the opposite direction to the one before, creating an easy-to-navigate layout.
Cross Fold
A sheet is folded in half one way, then in half the other—so it opens out like a poster. A clever choice for maps, event programmes, or anything where you want to make a big impact from a small format.
Roll Fold
The paper folds in on itself, one panel at a time, like rolling up a scroll. A good pick for content that flows in a clear order—great for storytelling or product walkthroughs.
Gatefold
Two panels fold inward to meet in the middle like gates. Stylish and dramatic—ideal for invitations, reveals, or highlighting a special centrepiece.
What to Think About When Choosing a Fold
How much content do you have? More text and images might need more panels
How will people read it? Will they open it all at once, or step through it panel by panel?
Where’s it going? On a counter? In a mailing? Fold style affects how it’s handled.
What’s the wow factor? Some folds (like Gatefolds) feel special—great for a big reveal!
